HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 33

Weight 184.6

Hmmm a 2.6 lb jump from yesterday.  Does that mean the multigrain waffles were a bust or was it the typical snap back after a lower weight?  I'll have to try the waffles in a week or see and see if the scale reacts the same.

Breakfast - (416 calories)
Sausage/veggie scramble (50/50/50 breakfast)
1 egg
1/2 c eggbeaters
50 g onion
50 g mushrooms
50 g bell pepper
1 tsp light margarine
2 patties Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage
10 oz coffee
1 tbsp half & half

I've begun calling my breakfast eggs the 50/50 because I do 50 grams each of whatever veggies I'm adding. I always do 1 whole egg and the eggbeaters equivalent of 2 eggs so it's like having the volume of 3 eggs without all the fat and cholestoral.  After used the chub version of Jimmy Dean sausage I decided to opt for the premade patties because I can grab two, microwave them, crumble them up and add them to the eggs.

Lunch - (315 calories)
200 g (cooked weight) chicken breast
1 tbsp spicy mustard

Dinner - (366 calories)
Rib eye steak and slaw
300 g cooked weight rib eye steak, outer fat removed, grilled
85 g Fresh Express cole slaw blend
3 tbsp champagne vinegar

Total calories for the day 1,144
Daily Calorie Composition: 6% from carbs, 47% from fat and 47% from protein.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 32

Weight 182.0

Today is the first day of trying a few starchy carbs.  I'm doing a couple of waffles this morning with sugar free syrup.  Well see if there's any effect on the scale.

Breakfast - (236 calories)
2 Van's 8 Grain Multigrain Waffles
3 tbsp Smuckers Sugar Free Breakfast syrup
1 tsp light margarine
10 oz coffee
1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (403 calories)
Garden salad with turkey
100 g Foster Farms Hickory Smokey Turkey Breast
130 g bagged sweet tender greens lettuce
100 g roma tomatoes
150 g cucumber
3 tbsp Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette

Dinner - (776 calories)
Beef mexi stirfry
.77 lb lean sirloin, cut in strips
4 oz can mushroom, drained
2 cups stir fry veggies (premade, fresh or frozen
1 tbsp McCormick Taco Seasoning mix
4 tbsp pico de gallo
2 tbsp sour cream
3 oz Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon

In a skillet over medium heat, saute the sirloin until almost cooked.  Add the taco seasoning and cover so some liquid forms.  Stir and add veggies, cover again.  Stir occasionally until veggies start to tender up, then remove the cover and let the sauce thicken.  Plate, then top with pico de gallo and sour cream.

Total calories for the day 1,415.
Daily Calorie Composition: 24% from carbs, 36% from fat and 40% from protein.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 31

Weight 182.2

I don't know how my weight keeps dropping slowly from my LDW of 187.  I'm fearful of eating more than I am, and really I'm not hungry enough to eat more.  I feel like I'm eating tons.

I went in search today for some different items for breakfast.  I'm going to try Von's 8 Grain Waffles and some Kashi GoLean cereal.  I also grabbed some double fiber whole grain bread to perhaps make a real sandwich.  I'm leary of adding carbs in the same meal as fats so I'm going to have to go cautiously.

Breakfast - (204 calories)
1 Thomas Bagel Thin
1 oz Chevre cheese with herbs
10 oz coffee
1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (365 calories)
129 g Foster Farms Hickory Smoked Turkey breast
170 g bagged mixed lettuce
115 g cucumber
50 g onion
2.5 tbsp Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette Dressing

Dinner - (666 calories)
Mexi StirFry
3/4 lb lean sirloin steak, cut in strips
160 g mixed veggies for stir fry
4 oz can of mushrooms, drained
5 tbsp Pico de Gallo
1 tsp Mexican seasoning or Taco seasoning
2 tbsp sour cream

Saute the sirloin until almost done then add the veggies. Stir occassionally until vegetables are tender.  Plate and add Pico de Gallo and sour cream.

Total calories for the day 1,235 (so far)
Daily Calorie Composition: 21% from carbs, 34% from fat and 45% from protein.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 30

Weight 184.8

And again the steak day does it's trick.  Down 3.4 lbs from yesterday morning and I weighed earlier than normal today because of an early appointment.

Why is it that no one has ever come out and said "When you're weight climbs a bit just eat a big steak and a tomato or apple."  If they'd told me that years ago, I'd have never gained weight.  It's a good thing I like steak!

Breakfast - (359 calories)
Mexican scramble
1 egg
1/2 c eggbeaters
128 g extra lean ground sirloin
50 g onion
1 tsp Mexican Seasoning
2 tbsp salsa
10 oz coffee
 1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (416 calories)
Salad with chicken
137 g chicken breast (weight after cooking)
170 g bagged lettuce mix
90 g roma tomatoes
50 g onion
2 tbsp Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette

Afternoon Snack - (125 calories)
1 container Fage 0% Greek yogurt
1 tbsp apple butter

Dinner - (855 calories)
Alfredo chicken with artichoke and mushrooms
235 g chicken breast (cooked weight)
1/2 c Light Alfredo sauce
8 artichoke hearts (packed in water), drained
1 cup mushrooms
1 slice pepper jack cheese
1 tsp pepper

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 29

Amazing.. I haven't had almonds in several weeks because the last time I thought perhaps they caused my weight to jump.  Sure I had a couple of cookies yesterday, but I also had a handful of almonds.  I could tell last night that I felt bloated and sure enough this morning I'm up almost 3 lbs from yesterday.

Even though I'm still within my original 2 lb range from LDW I'm doing a steak day to circumvent.

 Breakfast - (24 calories)
10 oz coffee
 1 tbsp half & half

Dinner - (680 calories)
10 oz (after cooking) lean sirloin steak, broiled
160 g roma tomatoes

This was a really weird food day for me.  Probably one of the first 'grazing' on bad things in a while. And I paid for it

Lemon caper veal & green beans

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 27

Kind of running on autopilot these past few days.  I'm getting tired of eggs or yogurt for breakfast and am going to start looking into other things.  Maybe a good high fiber cereal, but I'm not sure.

4 oz chicken breast, chopped
225 g zucchini cut with the spiral slicer
1/2 c Light Alfredo jarred sauce
1 oz Myzithra cheese

I baked the spiral sliced zucchini in the alfredo sauce topped with myzithra cheese then added the chicken too it (mine had been previously cooked)

Afternoon snack - (186 calories)
4 oz chicken breast

Dinner - (347 calories)
Garden salad with turkey
5 oz Foster Farms Hickory Smoked turkey breast
170 g bagged lettuce mix
60 g celery
50 g green onion
90 g dill pickle

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 26

Weight 185.4

The fair food didn't seem to hit me too bad.  Took a detox bath tonight.  Got my tub to 108degreesF, added 4 cups epsom salts and 2 cups baking soda.  Soaked for 20 minutes, jumped out, put on sweats and dove under the covers to continue the burn for another 30 minutes.

Got a late start today.. so breakfast was really at lunchtime and it's also from a Mexican restaurant

Brunch?! - (484 calories)
Mocajete -  Mexican stew with beef, chicken, mushrooms and onions in broth
3 tbsp Mexican rice
1 slice avocado
1 white corn tortilla
1/2 tsp butter

Lunch - (535 calories)
180g (cooked weight) ribeye steak (leftover from Tuesday night)
170g Garden lettuce blend
3 tbsp Maple Grove Farms Fat Free Balsamic dressing

Dinner - (526 calories)
Lemon chicken breast with ranch yukon gold potatoes
6.75oz (cooked weight) boneless skinless chicken breast
280g Yukon gold baked potato, cubed in small pieces
Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing mix
2 tsp olive oil

Cut the potato in small cubes, coated with the oil and tossed them in the powdered ranch mix the baked until tender at 350degreesF.

Evening snack - (218 calories)
5 whole wheat Ritz crackers
35g Tillamook Garlic Chili Pepper Cheddar

This should be an interesting test.  We're headed to the Western Washington State Fair this afternoon after a hectic morning.  Fair food and a lot of walking.

Woke up several times during the night with terrible leg cramps. I'm taking magnesium and I eat tons of red meat so I'm thinking it wouldn't be potassium either. Not sure.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 23

Weight - 185.0

Busy day today and after eggs twice yesterday, breakfast was not going to include eggs and I was shooting for higher protein.

Also, If I haven't mentioned it, I love love love the two small sized Calphalon Unison omelette pans that I purchased a few weeks ago. I have the 8" and 10". They are just the right size for most of my meals for one.

Breakfast - (351 calories)
Ground beef stirfry
214g extra lean ground beef
50g green onion, chopped
80g baby portobello mushrooms
1 tbsp Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Light Sour Cream

Saute ground beef in pan over medium heat, season as desired, crumble beef as it cooks. Add chopped green onions, mushrooms, and soy. Cook, stirring occasionally until done. Stir in sour cream upon serving.

I ate this by itself, but it would be great on lettuce wraps.

Lunch - (644 calories)
Inca Red Quinoa Salad with deli rotisserie chicken
1/4c Ancient Harvest Inca Red Quinoa, cooked per package instructions
85g Hearts of Palm
35g Artichoke Hearts
85g cucumber
40g onion
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette
200g deli chicken

Chop veggies and chicken, add to cooled quinoa. Stir in lemon juice and dressing.

Dinner - (662 calories)
Sirloin Steak and Green Beans and wine
10 oz lean top sirloin steak
6 oz French style green beans
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning
1 tbsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette
6 oz Barefoot Moscato wine

Prepared the steak however you like. I seared mine on the stovetop, added garlic, steak seasoning, and worcestershire. Continue cooking until desired doneness. I remove mine from the heat at medium and let it rest.

The green beans were in a nice microwave pack. I cooked them for 3 minutes and seasoning them with the vinaigrette.

Love the wine.. 150 calories for 6 oz. Nice treat.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 22

No scale change from last night's Chinese food. I was careful in what I ordered and avoided the white rice.

Today is an odd day for my meals. I ended up with eggs twice because I just couldn't come up with what I wanted for dinner that didn't need thawing out.

Breakfast - (512 calories)
1 egg/2 eggbeater scramble with ground sausage, onion, mushrooms, bell pepper, jack cheese, plus coffee with 1tbsp half & half.

Lunch - (511 calories)
Quinoa salad with Ancient Harvest Inca Red Quinoa, artichoke hearts, hearts of palm, onion, cucumbers, lemon juice, Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette, and Applegate Farms Deli Turkey.

I'm loving quinoa, can't you tell. I made enough of this salad for two portions the second half is for tomorrow.

Afternoon snack - (140 calories)
5 vanilla wafers - totally didn't need them, but heck, once in a while

Dinner - (430 calories)
3 eggbeater scramble with chopped thin-sliced beef, mushrooms, and onions

Evening Snack - (125 calories)
Fage 0% Greek Yogurt plus 1 tbsp Knudsen's Apple Butter

I had the 0% yogurt to up my protein count for the day.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 21

Today is my 21st day of Phase 4. Incredible to think that the end of June I was starting on this journey and now I've completed one full round from start to finish. Do to a family vacation in about a month, I won't be starting round 2 until late October or early November. Yes I know.. VLCD during the holidays... but I don't want to put it off until January. I'm hoping to do this one more round and be done.

Up late this morning so meals are a bit skewed. Didn't really have a breakfast persay, but I did eat 3 meals throughout the rest of the day.

Brunch - (330 calories)
Subway club salad with pepper jack cheese and Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette

Late afternoon Lunch - (507 calories)
Leftover chopped pork steak in panko/parmesan breading with leftover fried green tomatoes

Dinner - (627 calories)
Local chinese take out Mongolian Beef, small eggflower soup, couple of pieces of bbq pork, glass of wine.

I haven't had Chinese take out in many months. Should be interesting to see if I retain water. I ate less than half the entree and no rice at all.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 20

Back down a bit to 183.8 and even after eating half of a baked potato last night.  I'm loving this.

Breakfast - (490 calories)
Scrambled eggs with 1 egg/2 eggbeaters, the leftover chopped sirloin from dinner last night, mushrooms, and onions, along with my coffee and 1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (250 calories)
Garden salad with Foster Farms Hickory smoked turkey breast, iceberg lettuce, roma tomato, cucumber, red onion, and BoltHouse Farms Ranch dressing

Dinner - (662 calories)
Baked Artichoke chicken breasts with Ancient Harvest INCA Red Quinoa

Baked Artichoke Chicken Recipe
* 1 (15 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
* 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 3/4 cup mayonnaise (I used light for this one)
* 1 pinch garlic and pepper
* 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Mix together the artichoke hearts, Parmesan cheese, mayonnaise, garlic and pepper. Place chicken in a greased baking dish, and cover evenly with artichoke mixture. Baked in a preheated oven at 375degreesF for 30 minutes or until chicken is done.
Serves 4. Can be halved.

I loved the regular quinoa from a couple of days ago so I made enough to fix a salad in the next few days and have two servings.

Evening snack - (228 calories)
1 Hershey Bliss White Chocolate with meltaway center, 1 Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate square, 1 shots of Patron Silver (had to finish off the bottle...hehe)

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 19

My weight is staying fairly steady between 184 and 187.  I'll take it since my LDW ws 187.

Thursday was a busy day.  I woke up late so missed breakfast, had a decent lunch and ended up eating out at a steakhouse for dinner.  I had my first baked potato since June or before.

Lunch - (411 calories)
Garden salad with leftover chicken breast, iceberg lettuce, red onion, cucumber and BoltHouse Farms Parmigiano Caesar dressing

Afternoon Snack - (260 calories)
2% Fage Greek Yogurt, 1 tbsp apple butter and 1 tbsp no sugar added peanut butter

Dinner - (941 calories - estimated)
10oz chopped sirloin with mushroom and onions on top, a bit of A1 steak sauce, a couple of bites of yeast roll with butter, side salad with lowfat catalina dressing, baked potato with sour cream, butter, chives, and bacon bits, 1 shot Patron Silver. 

I used 1 tbsp of butter and sour cream, 2 tbsp of cataline dressing and brought home about 1/3rd of the 10oz chopped sirloin.

Daily Calorie Composition: 24% from carbs, 46% from fat and 30% from protein.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 18

Really testing the limits today.  We'll see how things go on the scale in the morning

I haven't had fried green tomatoes in eons.  I've had a couple of green tomatoes in my fridge for a week and finally decided I was going to use them today.

Breakfast - (212 calories)
Whole wheat bagel thin, half with reduced fat cream cheese and half with light butter and apple butter.

Lunch - (368 calories)
Quinoa salad with hearts of palm, artichoke, onion, celery, French vinaigrette dressing

Afternoon Snack - (71 calories)
Tuna fish with lemon juice, dill relish, and capers.

Dinner - (778 calories)
Panko/parmesan crusted pork cube steak with unfried green tomatoes
I used 1/4 cup panko crumbs and 1/4 cup shredded parmesan to lightly coat pork cube steaks then fried them in a light amount of olive oil and drained.

Unfried Green Tomatoes
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 or 3 green tomatoes sliced about 1/4 inch thick
1/3 cup non-fat milk
cooking spray

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Combine dry ingredients in a shallow dish. Dip tomato slices in milk, dredge through flour mixture. Place on a baking sheet or wire rack in the oven, lightly coated with cooking spray. Bake 25 minutes turning after 15.
* Mine didn't brown the way I wanted so I put them under the broiler for a bit.

Total calories for the day 1,429.
Daily Calorie Composition: 34% from carbs, 33% from fat and 33% from protein.
Probably one of my highest carb days so far with the bagel thin and the coating for the tomatoes and pork.

Still holding steady below 184.

Ukranian Joe's Special frittata with 2 eggs/2 eggbeaters, ground beef, spinach, onion, mushrooms, worchestershire, and sour cream

Lunch - (396  calories)
Green salad with cucumber, lettuce, red onion, celery, turkey, pickle, and Real French Vinaigrette

Dinner - (549 calories)
Baked chicken breast with Ancient Harvest Traditional Quinoa
and green beans.

This is the first time I've ever made quinoa.  I've had it before, but never made it myself.  I cooked 2 servings in 1 cup of chicken broth and used half of it for dinner and will use the rest for something tomorrow as long as my weight doesn't jump because of it.

Evening snack - (110 calories)
1 Ghirardeli Dark Chocolate Squares.

Total calories for the day 1,690.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 16

Woke up late this morning and the scale had dropped 6 lbs overnight. I'm 183.6 which is 3.4 lbs lower than my LDW. Had a very odd day today. Didn't sleep well last night so I ended up getting up early, but then went back to bed mid-morning. When I did get rolling, I ended up right out the door with no breakfast. I grabbed a Venti Starbucks coffee with half & half. By the time I could stop and eat, it was 3:30. I had a chicken fajita salad from a local restaurant with the dressing on the side and went from there with the rest of my day.

Lunch - (541 calories)
Restaurant chicken fajita salad with Italian dressing on the side. Ate most of the chicken and about half of the rest.

Dinner - (692 calories)
Chicken alla vodka with zucchini pasta made with the spiral slicer.

Total calories for the day 1,292 (I know I need more)
Daily Calorie Composition: 11% from carbs, 59% from fat and 30% from protein

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 15

After last night's late night drinks and eats, I'm borderline for a steak day.  Was majorly busy this morning and early afternoon, so I'm going for it!  Believe me... it's worth it to way all day to have a steak and tomato after having fun the night before.

Drank some coffee in the morning with 1 tbsp half & half and a venti Starbuck's coffee with half & half.

Dinner - (681 calories)
I have a hard time believing this one but I bought a lean 1 pound sirloin ball tip steak.  It's a different cut than what I've been eating on steak days and when I added up the calories it's half the calories of a rib eye or t-bone.  I almost felt like I should have eaten more because the calories are so low.  I also had a couple of small roma tomatoes.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 14

Two weeks into Phase 4 and although I haven't consistently been eating outside of the Phase 3 menu, overall I've been pretty happy with the results.  My Saturday plans are going to be a bit crazy so I'm betting I'll want to do a steak day on Sunday just to prevent any scale sadness.  Because it's going to be a carbie kind of day I'm eating on the low fat side during the early part of the day.

Breakfast - None

Lunch - (692 calories)

Beth's Cafe in Seattle at 1am.  If you watch the Food Network or Travel Channel, you have seen Beth's Cafe on at least one or two shows.  It's the home of the 12-egg omelette served on a pizza pan with a massive amount of hashbrowns that are unlimted, but I've never heard of anyone asking for seconds.  It's a 24 hour greasy spoon with a grunge/goth flair and a jukebox to match.

I dove into a Southsider which is chili, cheese, and onions on top of a mound of hashbrowns topped with tomatoes with a side of toast served with a side of sour cream and salsa.  I added two scrambled eggs on top.  I ate most of the eggs, some of the chili, cheese, and onions with about 1/4th of the hashbrowns and 1 piece of the toast.  The calories are probably higher but it's an estimate.

Total calories for the day (and night) 1,974.
Daily Calorie Composition: 28% from carbs, 42% from fat and 30% from protein.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 13

It's hard to believe that I've been off HCG for 5 weeks and that during that time my weight hasn't really fluctuated that much.  Of course, I'm not eating anywhere near the types of things I was before starting HCG.  I've not had much at all in the way of white starchy carbs since the end of June and I'll be very happy to keep it that way.  I can see doing whole wheat bread from time to time.  I do have some of the whole wheat thinwich things that are only 100 calories.  But for the most part I'm staying away from it.  And I haven't tried it, but I truely believe that the fat/carb combination is deadly when it comes to keeping your weight stable.

My lean day yesterday caused a 1 lb drop, so I am now 2.2 lbs below LDW.

Breakfast - (459 calories)
Egg/Egg Beater scramble with onion, bell pepper, mushroom, cheddar cheese, and 2 oz of crumbled sausage  along with my morning coffee and 1tbsp half&half.

Lunch - (361 calories)
Tuna salad with onion, celery, dill relish, 1 tbsp Duke's mayo, mustard, some pickle juice, and 6 Mary's Gone Crackers Original Seed Crackers

Afternoon snack - (165 calories)
Fage 2% Greek yogurt and 1 tbsp apple butter

Dinner - (546 calories)
2 Jenni-O Lean Turkey Burgers topped with Sargento Pepper Jack cheese, pickles, onion, roma tomato, yellow mustard, and OrganicVille Ketchup

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 12

Can I just plan for a steak day every week?  Dropped 3.2 lbs and now I'm back at 1.2 below LDW.  I'm keeping it somewhat lean today.  I've got a big outting planned on Saturday and I know there will be carbs and alcohol. 

Breakfast - (361 calories)
Baked chicken breast and green beans with my coffee and half&half.  Yeah I know it was breakfast, but the chicken needed to be cooked.

Lunch - (208 calories)
Garden salad with Foster Farms Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast, iceberg lettuce, onion, bell pepper, celery, cucumber, and Maple Grove Farms Fat Free Balsamic.  I did that dressing to keep the fat content down for the day.

Afternoon Snack - (145 calories)
Store brand 0% Greek Yogurt and 1 tbsp organic apple butter.  I keep some of the 0% yogurt on hand for lean days and with the idea of using it on a potato (if I ever have one)  Let me tell you.. the apple butter in the greek yogurt is the best!  Hands down got it over berries.

Dinner - (320 calories)
Lemon/caper thin sliced veal with steam in the bag asparagus.

Total calories for the day 1,034.  Less than my steak day, but I can't eat anything more today.

21% from carbs, 17% from fat and 62% from protein

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 11

Okay.. the rice wasn't nice at least to me.  I'm up exactly 2 lbs from yesterday and I can see the writing on the wall, so STEAK day!

I had coffee with 2 tbsp Almond milk in the morning and lots of fluids throughout the day.

Dinner - (1,438 calories)
Grilled a 1 lb (raw weight) boneless ribeye seasoned with two salt-free seasonings, Paul Prudhomme's Magic Salt Free Seasoning and Mrs. Dash Onion & Herb Seasoning Blend.  Also had a tomato diced up.

Total calories for the day 1,451
3% from carbs, 66% from fat and 31% from protein

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 10

I'm right at my LDW this morning.  I ended up with last minute restaurant plans.  Luckily it's a steak house so I should be good to go.

Breakfast - (24 calories)
Just coffee with 1 tbsp half&half.  Woke up a bit late and wasn't wanting a full breakfast so close to lunch.

Lunch - (565 calories)
I had the leftover spicy chipolte chicken breast from yesterday with a slaw of chinese cabbage, onion, dill pickles, Brianna's Real French vinaigrette and some ranch.

Dinner - (1,118 calories estimated)
Dinner was at the Black Angus.  I ordered an 8 ounce mushroom & blue filet with the steak soup and a side of western wild rice. I even asked if the rice had white rice in it.  Well it looked more like rice pilaf with a few grains of wild rice than it did 'wild rice'.  Next time I'll stick with veggies.  I also had one shot of Patron Silver and two top shelf margaritas with mango in them.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 9

Wow.. I'm living a charmed life.  The scale was down this morning.  Below my LDW again.  I'm glad company will be gone this evening and I can get back to my normal routine.

Breakfast - (451 calories) - Egg/eggbeater scramble with onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, 2 oz crumbled sausage and feta cheese, coffee with 1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (662 calories estimated) - Mexican restaurant.  I had the Pollo Chipolte with mushrooms, a side salad with Italian dressing.  The sauce was very spicy so I added a bit of sour cream to cool it down.  Couldn't resist 1 handmade flour tortilla.  Only ate half the chicken and a bit of the salad.

Dinner - (962 calories estimated) - Outback Steakhouse.  I had the Filet with mushroom sauce, green beans, side salad with blue cheese, and a Top Shelf Margarita. The calorie estimate is based on their website.

Total calories for the day 2,075

Crossing my fingers that tomorrow won't be a steak day!

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 8

So far the popcorn yesterday had no effect on the scale.  I was the same exact weight as the morning before.
I had company in town this weekend and everyone wanted to go out and go out and go out.  For the most part I did pretty well.

Brunch - (536 calories estimated)  We went to IHOP.  I had the Veggie Omelette For Me and added some Fajita chicken breast to it along with a couple of bites of someone's NY Cheesecake Pancakes (no syrup).

Dinner - (817 calories) - We went to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza.  I had a bunless half pound burger with blue cheese sauce, a few bites of breaded Cajun shrimp appetizer and 1 shot of Patrol Silver.

I split a bottle of a great German Riesling with my daughter-in-law.  It was a 750ml bottle so have should be around 240 calories.  I got snacking before bedtime and had a piece of beef bologna and 1 oz of cheddar cheese.  (411 calories)

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 7

Posting this back from day 9...  I've had a weekend of what I'd consider splurges, but the scale has stayed stable.  I'm not pushing it though. 

Breakfast - (174 calories) - Fage 2% Greek yogurt with strawberries and stevia, coffee with 1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (916 calories) - Steak salad (like 8 oz of meat) with veggies, blue cheese, and French vinaigrette dressing plus 1 tbsp MCT oil.

Dinner - (290 calories) - Scrambled egg/eggbeaters with turkey, mushrooms, and bell pepper cooked in coconut oil

Evening snack - (420 calories) - Small movie popcorn with no butter or added salt.  The calories my be closer to 300, but I'm erring on the upper side. 

I haven't been to the movies in several months and haven't had popcorn since before starting the diet.  I thought I'd splurge a little.  We went to see the Expendables and I loved it.

Total calories for the day - 1,800

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 6

It will never cease to amaze me how I can eat totally different things two days in a row and the scale is exactly the same.  I've not been above my LDW for the last 3 days.  So two days of the first six of Phase 4, I've been  a few ounces above my LDW and the other 4 days I've been below by at least 1.5 lbs.

Unless someone complains or I make some outstanding creation, I'm going to start posting menus versus actual breakdowns.

Breakfast - (379 calories) 1 Egg/ 2Eggbeater scramble with an Al Fresco Naturals Roasted Pepper and Asiago Chicken Sausage and bell pepper, cooked in 2 tsp coconut oil with coffee and 1 tbsp half & half

Lunch - (429 calories)  Other half of my chicken salad from yesterday with 1 tbsp of MCT Oil added in.

Dinner - (777 calories)  Steak salad with thin sliced sirloin (sauteed in 2 tsp olive oil), butter lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, celery, 3 tbsp Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette, and Queso Fresco cheese

Total calories for the day 1,585.

The MCT Oil is something new I'm trying. I've heard alot of good things about it's benefits. Many rogue HCGers use it when cooking (at low temps) or make salad dressing with it, etc.

MCT stands for medium chain triglycerides. They pass through the digestive tract easier than other triglicerides. Coconut oil is 68% MCT. Some studies have shown that MCTs can help in the process of excess calorie burning, and thus weight loss. Bodybuilders sing it's praises for it's thermogenic capabilities. MCTs produce more ketones than normal dietary fats and are more readily transported through the body. They are handled in the liver and therefore don't end up as fat in the body. They provide readily available energy for building muscle. Because they burn up quickly in the body, they are thought to increase metabolic rates. It may be "Snake Oil", but we'll see.

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 5

My weight was down 1.8 lbs this morning and under my LDW. I'm kind of licking this.

My Saladacco Spiral Slicer arrived today! I'm going to use it to make veggie 'pasta'. Making lasagna for the rest of the family tonight, so I'm going to have veggie spaghetti!

Breakfast - (847 calories)
*Carne Asada Frittata - say that three times fast
12 oz (raw weight) Trader Joe's Carne Asada thin sliced beef
1 large egg
.5 cup eggbeaters
80 grams onion chopped
80 grams bell pepper
2 tsp light margarine
10 oz coffee
1 tbsp half & half

I'm loving frittatas these days. This one was a little larger than I planned, but I had the carne asada meat already cooked and leftover from a few nights ago.

Turn on oven broiler. In an oven-safe saute pan on medium heat melt the margarine and add onion and bell pepper. Sautee until soft. Add chopped beef and stir to warm it. Whisk egg with eggbeaters. Turn the heat on the pan down to low, stir in the eggs and cover for 3 or 4 minutes until set. Place pan in oven under broiler for 3 minutes more until the top is cooked through.

Lunch - (231 calories)
*Chicken salad and sweet slaw
116 grams chunk white chicken breast (I used half a 12.5 oz can and drained it)
1.5 tbsp dill relish
40 grams onion, chopped
60 grams celery, chopped
1.5 tsp Duke's Mayonnaise
1.5 tsp yellow mustard
140 grams Angel Hair cabbage slaw
1 fl oz white wine vinegar
stevia to taste

The chicken salad is really a double batch (these numbers reflect half of what I made). I'll eat the rest tomorrow. Stevia is added to the vinegar to make a sweet dressing for the cabbage.

Dinner - (572 calories)
*Alla Vodka sauce with ground beef and veggie pasta
4 oz lean ground beef
1 cup alla vodka pasta sauce (or other sauce)
140 grams zucchini
200 grams daikon radish

Brown the ground beef and drain. Add the pasta sauce and warm. The zucchini and daikon were run through my Saladacco Spiral Slicer to make long thin 'pasta'.

Total calories for the day 1,650

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 4

My weight stayed within the regular range even after the whole wheat sandwich thin and cream cheese spread!

I had expected a bit of a gain so was going to do a high protein day.  Even though it's not needed, I started my morning with coffee and half & half.  Then set out for a few errands before making myself something for bunch.  I ended up getting waylaid and did not finish up until almost 4pm.  Soooooo..  I stopped at the local butchers and got a couple of 1 lb choice boness ribeye steaks to put on the grill.  Had to get two or my son would never let me get through mine.

This is also the first day I'm taking the new digestive enzymes I mentioned on day 1 of this phase.

Dinner - (1,271 calories)
16 oz (raw weight) boneless ribeye steak
a shake of montreal steak seasoning
a thin brush of olive oil to keep it from sticking
210 grams roma tomato, chopped

I grilled the steak quickly starting with all burners on high then turning the side the steaks were on down to low.  They were done to medium and medium-well in 12 minutes.
