R5 Phase 2 Day 14

Weight - 142.0

Wow.. 7 days straight of losses.  I'm amazed.  Down another 0.8 today.  I am way overdo for a day or two of gains or no loss.

It's been snowing off and on here all day.  We're supposed to get more tonight and tomorrow.  Good thing I don't need to go anywhere.

Friends.. don't try this at home.  After talking to a couple of people and reading up, I decided to try something new for dinner.  I was not a big fan and won't do it again.  You know how in P2, you can have 1 whole egg and 3 egg whites.   Well, there's some people that have been using that along with a few other ingredients to make what they call a Chocolate Souffle.  More like light fluffy chocolate foam.  Tomorrow's scale will really tell the story.

Lunch - (205 calories)
**Lemon Pepper Spinach Soup with Ground Turkey
150 g Jennie-O 99% Lean Ground Turkey
85 g baby spinach
1 c Kirkland Chicken Stock

1 tsp capers

  1. Hello Beth,

I found you through the HCG Diet Forums under "struggling". I noticed it said you were a moderator and I thought you may be able to help me with an issue I'm having.

This is my 3rd go with HCG drops, having had to stop in the past for life events, and I am having quite a hard time with hunger issues. I'm very familiar with homeopathics, coming from a alternative-health knowledged home-life, but I can't seem to beat my constant hunger.

In past attempts, I would have cravings for foods I couldn't eat on the diet. Then I decided to eat as many vegetable servings with my meal as I wanted, as the "amount" isn't specified like the other categories, it really helped me. This time around its just a constant hunger, mostly for protein (which is interesting as I'm as close as you can get to a vegetarian regularly). And my question to you is this...

I have not been eating any Melba toast, as I haven't "needed" it and I figured it might help for the weight-loss, and I wouldn't even mind giving up one of my fruit servings... but do you think it would be possible for me to eat more protein in the day to stave off hunger?

Protein seems to be the only thing that sustains me, if I eat a fruit or veggy alone (without protein) I am hungry within an hour or two. Also, I know that homeopathics are "stronger" in smaller doses, so I've been taking 8 drops instead of the usual 10 3x a day... but I've been considering changing that up as well.

Not knowing me from Adam, would you kindly give me any thoughts you have on the subject? Thank you.

  2. You can likely see that I eat more protein in a day than the protocol calls for. I have found in all these rounds that my body seems to do better with more than 50 or 55 g of protein a day.

Hunger however is a different matter. If you are constantly hungry your dose is off. What drops are you taking? Do they list hcg with strengths such as 6x, 12x, 30x, 60x after? Are you holding them under your tongue for a minute? Refraining from eating or drinking 30 minutes before and after each dose?

You may need more drops and not less.

  3. Yes, I have a 6x 12x 30x 60x label - its a gold bottle, distributed by MYhcgSource.com - they had a "Super Trim" formula that was supposed to help with hunger and weight-loss even more... but I found it had a bit of a backward effect for me hunger-wise.

I read in the forums where one woman was taking her drops 6-drops 6x a day, and that seemed to work for her. I really can't imagine taking more at one time would prove to help, given how homeopathics work...

I am consistent with a half-hour on either side (aside from water, as I've never known it to have an effect on other homeopahics). I try to hold it under the tongue for 3-4 minutes each time.

If I eat more protein, should I cut the other fruit like I mentioned? Staying within 500 calories can be hard enough. The good news is that when I'm on this, I drop pretty consistently, it just doesn't last for long when I begin cheating from hanger-pains.

Also, what are your thoughts on Chia-seeds? I'm told they help with hunger? (Swelling up to 3-4x their size within the tummy to present a "full-feeling" according to Dr.Oz) I have some, and I've tried them a bit, bit its hard to tell. Its also an extra 80 calories a scoop... just a side thought while I've got you on the line.

  4. The drops I currently take are 6 times a day dosing.

I would arrange your calories so that you are eating as near the 500 a day as you can whether that be with more protein and less fruit, etc.

You don't want to do anything to mask your hunger. Your hunger needs to be at bay with the hcg or it's not working correctly. I would not do the Chia seeds.

Try increasing your drops. If you are doing 8 x 3 and dosing was 10 x 3, perhaps try 12 x 3 (or do 9 x 4) The idea is to get the right total of drops in a day throughout the doses. Doing 4 times versus 3 times would be fine. Doing them 6 x 6 would be fine as well.

  5. Thanks for the help... I'm planning to do an apple day tomorrow as I did a bit of cheating tonight (nothing drastic, but I'm sure to gain a bit). I will begin a new dosing tomorrow...

I guess I should shoot for 36 drops total instead of the 30 total directed on the bottle? I'm thinking of trying 7 drops 5x a day to start and see how that goes.

I've also noticed that it seems to work better for people (in the forums) when they have consistent meal/drops times. I believe I will try for that as well.

Thanks for all your help, I'll drop by to pass along an update (hopefully positive, and no necessary questions) in a few days. Thank you so much!

  6. I would not recommend doing an apple day to thwart a cheat. It's purely water weight that you end up losing.
