Really??? Over 2,800 calories yesterday and only a .6 gain on the scale? Weird weird weird. Today is my second day of loading. Taking my granddaughter to the mall for trick or treating then out to my favorite Italian restaurant, Mama Stortini's, for a great last dinner of chicken piccata with a crispy risotto cake and a slice of chocolate mousse pie.

(rolling up my sleeves) Here we go again. After a successfull 40+ day P2 in Round 1 followed by 21 days of Phase 3 and over 60 days of Phase 4, I am ready to start it all again. I dread the loading days... lots of good fats and a few things I may miss in the next 6 or 7 weeks.

I'm amazed that after some off the wall eating during my 8 days of vacation that the scale is still sitting right where it was before I left. I had planned a steak day for my first day home with the assumption I'd weigh more than I did, so I'm doing it anyway.
I begin round 2 tomorrow so I will start taking my homeopathic drops in the morning and eat good fats such as whole eggs instead of eggbeaters, avocado, fatty meats, and a couple of slices of cheesecake. Monday will be my first day of round 2 VLCD.
Breakfast was coffee with one tbsp of half and half.

Weight - 187.6 Ouch!
Steak day! No doubt. I feel like a blob. I will never eat a white flour product again or chocolate cream pie and definitely not in the same meal with fats like eggs. Totally against what I've been trying to do. I fully expect this will take me a couple of days to correct. A proper spanking before I head to Southern California for a week-long vacation.

Okieee.. I'm down another 1.2 lbs from yesterday. What the heck? I ate almost 1800 calories and loads of fats and some starchy carbs. I'm liking this (knock on wood).
In the last two days I've added a biotin supplement for my hair. Not because I'm losing hair on this diet but because I used to take it years ago and noticed a difference. I've also added a Flaxseed Oil capsule for general health and hair reasons. 65

Uh oh. Well up another 0.8 lbs. Even though I'm still 1 lb before my LDW I'm doing a steak day because my average weight for the last month has been between 184 and 185.
I had coffee with 1 tbsp half & half in the morning. Drank lots of tea and water throughout the day.

I started the steak in a screaming hot grill pan on the stove and then finished it under the broiler.
I find it very odd that the calorie counts for rib eye steak varies greatly from site to site on the internet. I had calorie ranges from 800 to over 1,200. I chose a higher calorie count for tracking purposes.

I really thought today would be a steak day, but the scale though otherwise. Got a very late start and had to head out shopping with family. I only had coffee in the morning. They wanted to go to (gulp) Cheesecake Factory. Hopefully I've been cautious enough.

If you have a spiral slicer, make fettucini noodles from the Daikon. If you don't have a spiral slicer, use a vegetable peeler to make long noodle-like strands down the side of the daikon. Place in a bowl of warm salted water for 15 minutes and drain.
Cut chicken in bite sized pieces. Heat olive oil and magarine on medium in a saute pan, add garlic and saute until it starts to brown. Add chicken and pepper, tossing occasionally until no longer pink. Remove chicken from pan, leaving any garlic, butter, and oil + juices in the pan. Put drained daikon into the pan drippings, saute lightly. Add back chicken along with the Parmesan Caesar dressing. Saute, stirring to heat through. Plate with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and capers.
I use the yogurt based dressing rather than alfredo sauce because it's less fat and I light the taste better. Could substitution any alfredo sauce, white sauce, or caesar dressing.

Stew beef and rice is something I make as a family dinner from time to time. It's a stick to your ribs meal. The family gets jasmine white rice done in the rice cooker. I chose a rice blend for myself. The stew beef is something that never comes out exactly the same way twice but it's always good.
For 4 adults I start with about 4 lbs of stew beef (there are alway leftovers). Braise stew beef meat at medium high heat in 2 tbsp olive oil in a large pot that has a lid. I use my Lodge Enamel Cast Iron Dutch Oven because I can use it on the stove top or in the oven. It's great for clean up too. The enamel interior requires little scrubbing even when food is baked on. Once the meat is mostly brown on the outside, add water to cover, Montreal steak seasoning to taste (easily 1 tbsp), 4 tbsp worcestershire sauce. Now at this point you can cover it and simmer it on the stove for 2 hours, stirring occasionally and adding liquid to keep it covered or you can put it in a 350 degreeF oven with the lid on for the same amount of time, checking it and adding water as needed. About halfway into the cooking time, I add a bottle of whatever barbeque sauce I have leftover in the refrigerator. I usually have parts of several so I can get rid of them all or just open a new one and use the entire thing. If at the end of cooking time, the liquid seems too thin, leave the lid off and let it reduce.
My family makes a bowl of rice (often with butter) then covers it with some meet and the sauce. I used the rice blend with no butter, measured out just the cooked meat so I knew how much I had and laddled on a bit of the sauce. BTW the rice cooker that I just love is a Zojirushi 5.5 cup Neuro Fuzzy Logic Rice Cooker. I've had this cooker for a couple of years and it's pretty much set it and forget it. They also make a 3 cup rice cooker for smaller families.

Down a pound even after the Kashi cereal yesterday. I guess that's a good sign that it's something I can add as a breakfast choice. I noticed that I'm still doing some reshaping. I've lost almost another inch off my waist for a total of 6 inches gone since I started the diet in late June. Amazing that although my weight is stable my waist (I actually have one now) is still shrinking. Didn't sleep well last night so I ended up waking late to some issues at home. Breakfast was really a late lunch.

Down a pound even after the Kashi cereal yesterday. I guess that's a good sign that it's something I can add as a breakfast choice. I noticed that I'm still doing some reshaping. I've lost almost another inch off my waist for a total of 6 inches gone since I started the diet in late June. Amazing that although my weight is stable my waist (I actually have one now) is still shrinking. Didn't sleep well last night so I ended up waking late to some issues at home. Breakfast was really a late lunch.

50 g mushrooms

1 shot Edgar Martinez tequila

HCG Diet Phase 4 Day 34
Weight 184.8
Up .2 of a pound even after a very low carb day. Still wondering if it's the effect of the multigran waffles from Day 32. Even so I'm going ahead with my carb experimenting by adding a cereal for breakfast today.
Breakfast - (299 calories)
1 c Kashi GoLean cereal
.5 c 2% milk
130 g granny smith apple
10 oz coffee
1 tbsp half & half
After a lot of label reading and web surfing regarding cereals I decided to try the Kashi GoLean because of it's higher fiber and protein
Lunch - (563 calories)
Beef and blue salad
138 g (cooked weight) rib eye steak, sliced
170 g romaine lettuce
75 g roma tomato
125 g cucumber
60 g onion
4 tbsp Marie's Blue Cheese Yogurt dressing
I love using leftover steak for a salad with blue cheese. I've been using a couple of yogurt-based dressings from Bolt House Farms. Yesterday, I found several new dressings from Marie's brand in the refrigerated section. Instead of using dressing and adding extra blue cheese, I decided to add extra dressing since the calories were about half that of standard blue cheese dressing
Afternoon Snack - (149 calories)
5 crackers Mary's Gone Crackers Original Seed Crackers
1 oz Tillamook Vintage White Cheddar
Dinner - (342 calories)
Lemon pepper veal with capers
228 g (raw weight) thin sliced veal
2 tbsp capers
2 tbsp lemon
.5 tsp pepper
1 package Green Giant Immunity Blend frozen veggies
One of my go to meals (for someone who never ate veal before this diet). Pepper the veal. In a heated saute pan, add lemon juice and veal. Saute until cooked through then add capers. Remove veal and let the sauce thicken then pour over the veal.
